The recall involves Whirlpool and KitchenAid brand freestanding ranges, double ovens, and oven-microwave combination products with the following model and serial numbers: Brand Product Model Numbers Serial Number Range Whirlpool Oven-microwave combination GSC XR15 - XR25 Whirlpool Double wall oven RBD XR15 - XR25 KitchenAid Oven-microwave combination KEHC KEMC XR15 - XR25 KitchenAid Electric free standing range KERA2 KERI2 RR15 - RR25 The model and serial numbers are located on a label inside the door of the units.

Reason for Recall

All of the appliances use faulty wiring, which can overheat, melt through the insulation and cause a short circuit. They may pose a shock hazard to consumers, if the appliance is not properly grounded.

Remedy

Consumers should immediately stop using the product, unplug it by shutting off the fuse or circuit breaker, and contact Whirlpool for a free repair.
